Week #2 of the fitness challenge brings us to the good ol’ Jumping Jack. Created by one of the most decorated Generals in American history, General “Black Jack” Pershing originally used this exercise to haze Plebes. Now, it is used by fitness gurus, sports teams, schools, and it one of my favorite warm-up exercises. It warms the body up through increased cardiovascular output, it is plyometric in its essence which fires your fast-twitch muscle fibers and it gets nearly joint moving. The exercise, depending on your weight and how aggressive you are doing the exercise, will burn from 8-15 calories per minute. Let do it!
